There was a fleet cloud cover of more than 60 ships, which was significantly longer than would have been possible to attack these ships with normal game attack commands. I am not sure HOW SmartFox and Baras were able to see past the lower named ships, but they did, in a way that is not possible using the standard game interface.

The use of non-standard game tools, such as autotrain, autoprobe, and autoattack scripts or other tools for getting arround game commands is not part of the game interface, and harm caused to players as a result of proven abuses of such tools is considered a bug and will be fixed whenever possible, including the harm cause and benefits from such tools or non-standard interfaces to the game.

In general, as long as such tools appear to be hard to detect and also cause minimal harm to other players in the game, I have relatively high tolerance for their use. But, using them in a way that gives an advantage not possible to be acheived by other players is not acceptable.

Whether or not a ship cloud is a good or bad feature in the game, it has been a feature of the game and getting arround it without using normal game commands is not acceptable as a means of creating an unfair advantage.

You stupid man.. and very stupid man.... Allways was different between trade with ships and attack ships.. allways it was , and we play without any advage.. just you don't have exp like warrior... thats all... ;)

Iiridayn has confirmed that there was an error in the specification or original design of the attack function, such that it behaved differently from other commands in the game. This, in my opinion, was a design mistake.

It appears that SmartFox and Baras did not cheat. They did, however, exploit a feature of the game which was unknown to most players, including me and Iiridayn, and it is a feature that I consider to be a [] in game design due to inconsistency of user interface when such inconsistency is unknown to most users (including to the system administrator and game owner).

As such, no points earned by LTC will be reversed. They did not cheat. They exploited a flaw in design which was inherent to the game, and which was generally unknown, but it was not an example of cheating. It was an example of a better understanding of game quirks and oddities than I myself have or than Iiridayn had of how the game code was written.

The inconsistency in the way transports pirate and fighters attack will be fixed, as it is a game bug to have these two similar functions behave differently. For now, we will change the game so that both fighters and transports view action page screens in the same order or priority.

However, I will also raise this as a topic for discussion with SL counsel to decide HOW these functions should work in the future (should a ship cloud be possible for either fighters or transports, or should both fighters and transports see ships in random order if more than one page).
