I agree, but this would also force a rollback of player actions. However, a testing server also would be a good idea, but it took so darn long to get this first server up and running. About three weeks of work all together. Annoying. Lots of things take longer than seems reasonable.

maybe u could do a test server bit by bit instead of trying to get it all done ASAP if u needed people to help test id be more than willing to help test

but with the undo maybe just have it so the undo only effects the last piece of code manually changed?

Also, rolling back a database change is not easy to do, and you can not just hit undo. MySQL does not support such a function. Once you make a change, it is done. You can restore a backup copy of the database, but you can not undo a mistake.

Not percent maybe, better average of the places taken in all your rounds, would be easier to count and more easy to understand (i don't know exactly whether all places are counted or only first 50 which are shown; if only 50, for those who are not in it could be given 50 or 100 or any other reasonable constant number higher than 50 ) It could be as additional data, as a change to ships data, which is not needed any more.

Idea. Reset all points if majority agree and then have two different types of points, Empire points and Offence points, combined together for total points. This would suit both the agressive and gatherer styles of play. One player could win on with Empire points and another would win Offence.

Empire points:

Points for each 100k res on planets, 1 mil is too high, if you are willing to give 20 points for 1 mill then give 2 points for 100k would exclude newer players and would encourage others to leave res on planets too and would tie in with res put on market that has to be left on the planet.

Points for length of time each planet is held with each daily server cycle being the minimum, you have to hold the planet from one news reset to the next.

Points for total number of planets held on same basis as above.

Offence Points:

As we have now plus points for each succesful probe.

Also had a question about the probing changes, if I buy probes this round at the current price of 2600G and not use them till next round, will they have the extended range due to be introduced in the November round for the probes costing 7500G? :D

Yes. If you buy probes now, they will still be probes in new round. So, a good investment.
