Decent enough, Although the points for resources stored should only apply to players who have logged in within a certain amount of time,

points for stored res can be applied to all players - it is not a problem if inactive player gets some points. Just amount of points should not be too big.
I think 1 point per 1mln of res kept on planet 24 hours is ok, as it won't hurt anyone - just make several thousand points for these who keeps res on planets.

In addition to this we can have statistics of players by res kept on planets, which would show who gets the biggest profit for keeping res :)

Well, at one point per million per day, a maxed HW with 15M of every resource would generate 120 points per day (for 120 million resources total), or 3600 points per round. Not very exciting, and I doubt that would change behavior in the slightest for any player.

I was thinking more along the lines of 20 points per million resources per day. This would be significant for a player with a maxed out HW, as it would be 72k points per round for a maxed out HW. If this does not shift thinking to bring back value of keeping resources on HWs instead of on floating HWs loaded on ships, I will be surprised. With floating ships, you have to pay for building the ships and get no points for the resources. With HWs, you get rewarded for taking the risk of keeping them on a planet which can be captured (with lots of assaults by attacker, of course). This also will shift balance so defense as well as offense is rewarded in the game, making the game more rewarding for empire builders who like strong defense, and giving players who prefer to attack with everything they have some more interesting targets to hit.

Also, I asked Iiridayn to implement points only for players who have logged in within the past seven days, and also to modify resource updating so it happens daily for all players who have logged in within seven days, but all resources thereafter stop being produced if a player has not logged in within seven days. Right now, the way inactive player resources are calculated is not as logical, as the only restriction is all resources are lost from the time of the last log in at the end of the round. So, you can be active for every day of the round and miss three days at the end of the round, then log in one minute after the new round starts, and you get no production for those three days. Alternatively, you can be inactive for the entire round, but log in every month on the last hour of the round, and you get a full month of production. The change to Zygi's coding that Iiridayn is working on now for player resource points and daily resource updates will change that so that players will not lose any resources at end of round unless they are inactive for more than a week.

Can I suggest a reset?

The changes implemented over the last 6 months have altered strategies so much that a fresh start would bring the most activity back and equality to all. I have repeatedly asked about what you see as your long term vision for the game yet changes seem to continue to come on a monthly basis that moderately to significantly effect strategy. I just feel that a fresh start would leave no room for complaints and create an even playing field for all active players to enjoy.... archive the high scores from the 1st chapter of SL and lets start chapter 2.....

I am not opposed to change which is why I'm suggesting a radical change in having a reset.....

Interesting. Well, I would want to have a majority of players request a reset before I did it. Also, I would like to have some more bugs worked out and features added before a reset.

I had kind of assumed that there would be a lot of resistance to change and to a reset, so I have been thinking instead about starting up a new version of the game instead, which would effectively do the same thing in many ways as a reset. However, there is a risk that two versions of the game would result in players who like being together for other reasons being divided in preferences on playing style, and thus, could fragment a community as players would not have time to play in both worlds.

A reset would affect only total points and defeated players, so i don't see any necessity of it. I'm happy when i have lots of players above me which are my target to be overtaken;)

PS: all the round changes are very welcome
