Here are the new player missions I wrote up based on the modifications we made to the new player starting items which are mainly, 30k of each resource on their starting planet; 2 double green systems w/ 1 SP nearby to them, and planets start out at 10x.

Suggest having the missions as a pop out in a new window rather than as a tab on the menu, this way the player can have the instructions open easily as they walk through them.

Mission 1: Your Planet
Objective: Know how to change resource gathering and rename planets.
Click on the “Planets” tab at the top of the screen.
This brings up your list of planets, you have one, click on its name.
This brings up the resource setting screen where you can set what you want your planet to make:
You almost always need more troops and iron so we’ll split the gathering between them:
Hit the “ - “ (minus) button to drop each gathering to 0. Then use the “ + “ button to put 4 points on Troops, 4 points on Vital (as you make troops it uses up vital, so you either have to split points between troops and vital or have lots of vital on your planet, we’ll just split them up for now) and 2 points on Iron. Then click “Save”
This way you’ll begin making troops so you’ll have more of them to attack other planets, and more iron so you can make more ships.
To give your planet its own name click on “Rename Planet” on the left side of the screen.
Now type in the name you want for your planet and click “Update”
Answer the following question correctly to receive 1000 Iron on your planet.
Where do you go to see a list of your planets?
A. Home
B. Planets
C. Systems
D. Information

Mission 2: Moving Ships
Objective: Know how to select and move ships.
Go to the “Ships” tab
Click on your ship named “Transport”, this will select it
To move your ship click on an empty space around it, you can also click on the arrows in the lower right of the screen
Move your transport so it is next to one of the spaces around the green planet.
Answer the following question correctly to receive 1000 Uranium on your planet (Uranium is the basic fuel to make your ship fly through space):
How do you move your ship on the space screen?
A. Using the Arrow keys on the keyboard
B. By clicking on an empty space next to the ship
C. By clicking on the arrow buttons on the screen
D. Both B and C
This is basic movement.

Mission 3:Getting Free Planets and moving resources.
Objective: Know how to colonize green planets, set resource levels, and rename the planet.
Your transport should be next to the green planet
Green planets are free planets, to make it yours click on “Colonize Planet” on the left side of the screen. Then set your resources gathering like your other planet (4 points on Troops, 4 points on Vital, and 2 points on Iron).

Now you have 2 planets in the same system, to make it easy to keep track of what planets are in the same system it is good to name them the same thing with a 1, 2, 3 next to them. So rename this planet to the same name as your other one with a “2” after it.

It is good to keep your resources together, so on your new planet click on “Load/Unload Resources” on the left hand side. There are two sides, one is your ship and one is your planet. Click on “Select All” on your planet side, then click on “To Ship” to transfer it to your ship.

Now to move back to your starting planet click “Space”, then move to it and click “Dock on Nearby Planet.” Now you can unload the resources from your ship to your planet, make sure to leave about 1000 Uranium and 1000 Hydrogen on it so you can move still.
Answer the following question correctly to receive 1000 Troops on your planet.
What do you click on to have your ship land on your planet?
A: Colonize planet
B: Land Ship
C: Space
D: Dock on Nearby Planet

Mission 4: Killing other ships
Objective: Know how to kill other people’s ships.

Click on “Ships” and then click on your “Fighter." Fighters can attack other ships, this is a basic fighter with 1,000 attack power. You use energy when building a fighter to increase the attack power and silicon to increase defense strength.
By clicking on the spaces around your fighter, move it so that it is next to the red enemy fighter.
Click on “Attack Nearby Ship” on the left hand side. This brings up the list of ships in the spaces around your ship and their attack and defense strength. The enemy ship has 1,000 attack also and 0 defense, just like your ship.
Click on the enemy ship name to attack it. Since you attacked first you win and the enemy ship is dead. Your ship now has 1% experience which makes it a little bit tougher.
Answer the following question to receive 5,000 Energy on your planet.
What do use to increase attack and defense when you build a fighter?
A- Iron and Uranium
B- Troops and StimPacks
C- Energy and Silicon
D- Gold and Silver

Mission 5: Taking Planets
Objective: Know what it takes to take someones planet.

Click on “Ships” and then click on your “Assault." Assault ships attack and capture other peoples’ planets.
Click “Dock on Nearby Planet” to dock on your planet and then load 15,000 Troops and 5,000 Uranium onto your ship. You need troops to take the planet and the uranium to move around.
Now click “Space” to open the space screen back up and move so you are next to the red planet in your system.
Click “Capture Nearby Planet” on the left side of the screen. This will bring up the planets name, its defense, and how much offensive power your assault has currently.
If the Defense amount is listed in red then you don’t have enough troops on your ship and need to go back to your planet and load more troops.
If you have more attack then the planet has defense then click on the planet name and you will capture the planet.
Now the planet is yours and you can set your gathering similar to the other planets, and rename it so it is the same as the other 2 with a number 3 at the end, so Planet 3.
Answer the following question correctly to receive 5,000 troops on your starting planet:
How much defense did the planet you captured have?
A- 5,000
B- 10,000
C- 15,000
D- 20,000

Mission 6: Finding and Moving to Nearby Planets
Objective: Know how to scan around your system for other planets.

Click on “Planets” and then click on one of your 3 planets. All your planets are in the same system so it does not matter which one you use.
On the left hand side click on “Nearby Planet." This will scan 1,000 spaces in every direction for other enemy planets. You should detect at least one other system. You can copy the coordinates and save them in a place like Notepad or write it down on a piece of paper, make sure you put the numbers as either negative or positive.
Click on “Ships” select your “Assault.” We don’t want to have to click all the way to the other planet, so we are going to use the auto-pilot.
Click on “Intergalactic Flight” on the left hand side of the screen. Now enter one of the coordinates you detected, then you can select the speed you want your ship to go, you can send it on “Fast” so it should only take a couple of minutes for it to get there. Then click “Launch.”
Answer the following question correctly to receive 5,000 Iron on your planet:
How many spaces in each direction does the nearby detector scan?
A- 100
B- 1,000
C- 5,000
D- 10,000

Mission 7: Hyperjumping and Getting More Planets
Objective: Know how to use Hyperjump and capture additional systems.

Click on “Ships” then click on your “Transport."
Dock on your planet and load 10,000 troops onto your transport, make sure you also have 1,000 Uranium and 1,000 Hydrogen.
Click “Space” to open the space screen. In the lower right corner there is a place where you can enter coordinates. Enter the coordinates you sent your assault to, then click on “OK.” You will instantly jump to the location. This costs 100 Hydrogen and only some ships can do it.
You should see 3 new planets. You can use “Colonize Nearby Planet” for any of the free green planets.
When your assault arrives you can load 10,000 troops on it by clicking on “Trade with Nearby Ship” and then capture the SP planet using the assault. Make sure to check your attack and the planets defense when you click on capture to make sure you have enough troops.
Once you have all 3 planets name them the same name with 1,2, and 3 after them. Set the gathering on them to produce troops and iron like your other planets.
Now check for nearby planets on your new system, and check again on your old system for any other nearby planets. Send your assault to capture them, and remember to load some troops on your transport to fill your assault with.
Answer the following question correctly to receive 10,000 Iron on your planet.
What resource and how much of it does it take for a ship to hyperjump?
A- 500 Uranium
B- 100 Hydrogen
C- 1,000 Hydrogen
D- 1 Gallon of Petrol

Mission 8: Communication System
Objective: Know how to check your private messages.
Click on “Forums” on the tab, anytime this tab is red it means you have a new message.
Click on “Private Messages” on the lower left side of the screen.
Click on the message from the system. It will have the coordinates to another planetary system that you can take with three green planets in it. Write the coordinates down.
Use your transport ship to hyperjump to the coordinates and colonize the planets. Then rename them and set their gathering. You can also check the nearby on the system.
If you click on “Forum” you see a list of topics that players have posted. You can post new topics by clicking on “Create New Topic” on the right side of the screen. There is a “Tutoring” topic that lists players that are willing to help out new players, you may want to look at this topic and see who is there. Then if you want to send them a message click on “Send PM” at the bottom of their post to send them a message.
Answer the following question correctly to receive 2000 troops.
What color does the "Forums" tab turn when you have a private message?
A-Purple
B-Yellow
C-Black
D-Red

Mission 9: More Ships.
Objective: Know how to make a new ship.
Click on the “Ships” tab.
On the left hand side click on “Create New Model."
For “Model frame” Select “Utility Ship”
For “Ship type” Select “Spy Ship”
For “Engine type” Select “Hyperdrive”
For “Volume” Select how much space you want the ship to have, I would recommend at least 2,500.
Now for “Name of your model” type in a name such as “Spy.”
Then click on “Save.”
Now you have a new model listed on the left hand side, you can have up to 12 ship models. On the lower left side click on “Select planet,” and pick your starting planet where you have your resources. Then for “Select model,” select your spy ship you just designed. Then click “Build.”
This will bring up the construction screen. Here you can select how many you want to build, leave it at 1. The name you want for your new ship (starts out as the ship model). Then you can select how much Uranium and Hydrogen you want on your ship, up to whatever volume you set. Then click “Construct Ship.”
Now you can click “Launch Ship” to launch it. The spy ship is used to spy enemy planets to see what is on them. To use it when you have an enemy coordinate use the hyperjump to take your spy to the planet and then on the left side of the screen click on “Spy Nearby Planet." This will show you the resources and defense of the planet.
Answer the following question correctly to receive 10,000 gold on your planet.
How many ship models can you have?
A- 12
B- 9
C- 10
D- 15

**Bonus** Mission 10: Probing
Objective: Know how to use probes to search for other systems.
Probing is an additional way to look for planets, it can take quite a bit of gold and some time and patience to get much of it done. Here is a few basics to get started on it.
Go to “Ships” click on “Create new Model” for model frame select “Utility Ship”
Select “Probe” for ship type and leave the volume at 100
Name it something related to Probe.
Now you can select your main planet and build a probe. Place 100 hydrogen on it. Probes are a one time use ship and then they are gone.
After you build your probe then click on “Launch Ship”, probes have hyperjump and with the upgrade that you have they will scan 400 spaces in every direction.
Your planets scan 1000 in every direction with nearby, so we want to look beyond them, so look at your coordinate where you are right now in the upper right corner of the screen under “Current Position” and add 1,300 to each of the 3 coordinates, then type those numbers in in the bottom right for the hyperjump coordinate and press OK. Then on the left side of the screen click “Probe Space” for more information and for additional tactics visit the “Diary of a Starting Player” topic at: http://www.skylords.com/com/47865/topic/Diary-of-a-Starting-Player

This looks really good. I played for a couple of weeks before I realized that there were private messages and figured out what the hyperdrive did.

i would like it more if the rewards were just given when you finish a mission for 2 reasons
1) if i were asked to answer some of thoes, i would feel insulted. even as a noob. change at least the first ones it you want to keep them.
2) someone will screw up and hit the wrong button, there goes your resources. i would be :censored:
otherwise, GREAT job and i want to say thanks for devoting such a great deal of time to this :)

Blazcon: Skylords is ALL about not hitting the wrong buttons and not being stoned. Most errors by SL players happen in a typical moment of wrongbuttonitis, or just having woken up, or being drunk and or stoned.
