I always liked the mentor linda programs... Some players could indeed act as big brothers for new players. But I also think that we should be asking the new players that stick with it what should be improved... I played for like... 5 years? I dunno something something. I've never even seen the newb missions. BUT a mentor-menty program (maybe even linked somehow, and 5% of the newbs points or res are also added to the mentor)

- Newbie warp: good idea. I never got why there wasn't any in the first place.
- Handbook rewrite: Definitely. preferably with direct link in the new player mission screen.
- Mentor program: 5%? hmmmh, though it wouldn't be much to most vets, it could work.

EDIT: maybe we should make a summary of suggestions, not just for newbs, but also for other improvement aspects of the game?

Get rid of the probing mission or give them room to make mistakes -- extra non-def resources.

Make "Morale" worth something!
The concept of low and high morale has been lost. It was meant to reward players who don't go wiping out newbies. It would make sense in away to have it be either part of the defense value or production value or a planet.
It would take some looking at trends. Say a Morale rating of 10000 point gave you twenty production units for your planets or doubled defense values, maybe players would not be so quick to wipe out newer players.

Just some NooB ideas from someone who's played before:

1. More missions
2. More planets in the NooB arena
3. I think that a lot of NooB's are just getting bored by doing the missions and then sittin back for 2 weeks. Or they enter the real arena and start finding out they should have stayed in the NooB arena.

Just my humble opinion on this situation.

Also anybody know who to contact about maybe advertising???

Edit:
4. Game also needs a story line
5. Also increase production in the NooB arena give the NooB's something to fight for.

Give incentives to new players to stay in the newbie arena and help them catch up to vets.

i.e. interest on defense, higher interest, etc.

Get rid of probing mission. Include video examples.. can we get working on any of this?

a storyline? thats actualy not a bad idea. eveyone loves a good story, and doing things in that manner make remembering actions easier. has anyone played that dark orbit game linked to somewere on this site? what basicly happens in this game is you pick a faction and then have to rescue someone AS instructions are givin to you, its realy quite exciting ^_^
so what im kinda thinking is that at the start of the game, a newb gets to pick a clan to be a part of (obviously we will need to establish some differences for the noob to consider) and then give them a story driven tut to complete (screw the noob arena and replace it with the class based attack limit, so the clan can assist the noob from day 1) and make the noob that clans responsibility. this is a clan based game anyway right? and if the noob wants to leave once he understands the game, thats his choice to make.
