by which time they wouldve given up waiting, got annoyed and stop playing i know i would if i had a newbie stuck next to my planets doing nothing for 2 months

I'm against this. Implement morale properly, make it drop if you attack newbies, but don't give them immunity for 2 months.

Then newbie accounts that are innactive for over 30 days should become fair game.

If morale drops for a high ranked player, how will it affect the player who has raided a newbie and taken all their resources.


His morale went down but he took 300000 iron, 200000 gold, etc from the newbie who is trying to save up enough resources to build ships. The higher ranked player would not care if he got dinged a bit for that payday.

Hey guys, just think about it - if "morale" point will affect your resources gathering, you'll think what is more important to you: resources or point of killed newb. BTW "morale" MUST BE TOTAL - from month to month... if you killed newb once, you must "be good" and attack vets, ...coz if you kill another newb, your resources stop grow, or even start vanish :D
...but if your morale is big enough - your resources will grow twice ]:-)

so vets will be more attractive to attack vets ;) .

i like the star system he talked about, but why not make the stars a little differnet, not every month, e.g. when you get 50k points you gain a star, when you get to 100k points you gain a second star, when you get to 500k points you get 4 stars, and 5 stars for over 1 million points

This above system would mean his system would be good

But just as a 5 star can't attack a 1 star, a one star should not be allowed to attack a 5 star

You could also make changes to nearby to detect only that which you can attack, until there is nothing else there

If you want to implement morale then you MUST stop morale change when SPC is attacked

...but I think there will be a lot of work to change star system. Morale system already work,....it just need a little modifications :D

AGUX's idea is very good.

I'm against anything that involves "can't attack", all players should be able to attack whoever they want. Just with some consequences :)

SPC is reasonable for the high positive, as for the non exsistant negitive that is due to it being removed due to everyone having high negitive :P

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

GIVE NEW PLAYERS a HW with 10-15 in def. with no defensive resources.
That will be a good enough sheild.
