Topic Title: Team Clan Attacks (Simple Topic)

I have this posted in the Support forum and have had all good replys to this Idea. I thought Thta I'd post this to the main forum to get everyone's opinion since not everyone reads the support forum.....

If we want activity, and experience for the vets we need to give them something to spend their energies against, why not each month proff/iiri have a max/def/resources/turrets SP HW system set up somewhere in the outer regions for each senior clan and the coords would then be sent to the clan leaders. Clans would gain "Team points" only on these by attacking them and taking them out. The Team points could be spent on upgrades for its members, divided by their individual contribiutions.

This would give us goals and HW attacking exp and let clans compete against each other, along with the traditional attacks...

** AN aside to answer the pm that was sent regarding this. These planets would OBLIT at the end of each month if they had not been taken and new planets would then be sent out. **

this game is a war game. Player vs player, clan vs clan, not players vs computer.

yes, but each clan would get even points from a successful attack, therefore to gain any lead, they must make a decisive blow against their opponent as well. thus it also becomes a game of stratedgy. not to mention that they could always somehow intercept an attack and stave it off.

Yeah I guess there is that. Although how many active clanless players have ever won a round? So, how exactly would this change their expectations of winning? This would give the majority of active players something to do and if you wanted to get involved you could join a clan. I do not believe that there is a shortage of clans advertising for new blood on the diplomacy forum.

majority of players has a lot of things to do even without any additional tasks, but some of players, like Bert2 :D , instead of doing current tasks, like probing, using warp, capturing planets, trading, and so on, wants more tasks which they still won't do.
For me even now there are much more tasks to do than I have time for them - only looking for warp and using it every 15 minutes takes near 20% of your whole time on SL, and I also need to collect res from my planets, check nearbys, capture planets, send ships, answer PMs and look to forums. If you have too much time, start playing the game instead of looking for new tasks :)

Forgot about resurses :P each clan has not equal amount of resurses.. i mean compare TS and for instance LTR. TS has more resurses than LTR, so when TS takes SPC HW they still have enough res to take another for example 2 HWs while LTR maybe has spent most of their res on that one HW atack. and then again.. if LTR decides not to take SPC HW, it still wouldn't be fair for other clans who spent their res on SPC HWs' attacks.
So i'm not for this thing :shrug:

Filas I do my thing. You do yours. I'm currently stretched and contained by work and family atm. This came out of a discussion on how to get clanmates to work more together. It sort of grew into this Idea. It had good response on the support forums and sounded like a good idea to start up some safe teamwork, so I thought I'd bring it out for some real discussion.

SB, SO what your saying is that the same wouldn't be true right now then? Your very arguement does not help your point. If you are in a small clan then you would still have limited recourse on attacks no matter what we did or didn't do. This does not change anything for you if we implemented this, you'd still be in a smaller clan, with less options no matter what. This is mainly to let clans compete a little and get experience attacking big targets.

you could still play normally if you want this would just be another option for group training basically.

I don't like the idea at all.
There is already a significant difference between deffences and resources to blow them in the game. There are already hundreds of Hw's to spend your energy. If we'll need to waste our resources on capturing Spc inspite of killing players better to play with dolls and not suffer computer harm :shrug:
