Why not adopt what alot of games adopt. Point only count when you are attacking your bracket or above and captures can only be your bracket and above and SP's are all free meat. That way vets have to attack vets for points/planets and new guys can be more active and help equalize out the balance..

I think aretard023 could be on to something; however usin the star system might not be appropriate due to restarts. Maybe use a total point system. If you attack a player with considerably less total points, then you don't gain. If you attack a player with roughly the same total points then it should be worth something. I know this has probaly been said before but it could work. I know other games implement this(Ogame for one).
