There is no 1% decline in resources ever.

There will be a 1 credit per day decline in price for resources on the market which are not assigned to and held on a specific planet, but that will not happen until late January and will be clearly announced in advance. I am giving a warning now that this will happen, and it is likely to happen during this round, but nothing will change in this regard until the market has been modified so resources stay on planets when posted on the market.

I find this news disturbing... I have not yet entered the warp (didt even know there was one), but if there is a way to find these high production planet's im game. Listen, my personal take on this whole thing is to build an EMPIRE. Thus the more high production planets you have, the more resources you will gather. But in the same instance it cost's HUGE amounts of resource's to defend these planets also. Wisest of all would find a couple of these high production planets and spend a round or two fortifieing them. I dont claim to have the best skill's and such, but im in the top 10 in my class, and my BEST production is my HW of 14.....

It seems to be something along the lines of acceptable scarcity. For the players that oblit them, they have as many as they desire (which doesn't seem to be too many, oddly enough ;P), and follow a scorched earth policy to deny them to all other players. (To use another fun less common military term, winning a HW attack tends to be a Phyrric victory ).
