To be honest, I don't know. Iiridayn knows and Kotica and DAngel a few others on the SL Concil, but I intentionally did not look at who submitted them with the exception of the first one, as I immediately recognized that as the Warp from Merchant Empires. I asked who submitted that one, and Iiridayn (Michael) told me it was from Andy. Nice picture, but I voted against it myself as I think it would be better to have something original to our community if we can.

I think that ship detecting should be an upgrade like hyperdrive or pirate but a damn expensive. Planets should NOT detect ships.

I'm telling you there will be a problem, a single probe can do 250 squares to each direction (right?) and if it'll detect ships we'll have to send them thousands of squares away from the planets...

That sounds like a good idea. Or maybe if you select the ship detection upgrade, the range just automatically decreases. Saves having to introduce a new ship.

Another option is probe can detect ship being in area, but not exact coords of the ship. Like intrusion detection is now. Which goes about as far out as probe detection already.
