EARLY BUT NOT FINAL RESULTS:

LEADING IN THE WARP PORTAL DESIGN IS #2.

MIXED RESULTS ON NUMBER OF PLANETS - NO CLEAR WINNER THERE

ONLY 9% OF PLAYERS WANT UNIVERSE SIZE TO BE REDUCED;
MAJORITY WANT UNIVERSE SIZE TO REMAIN UNCHANGED AS IT IS NOW

MAJORITY OF PLAYERS WANT SOME ABILITY TO DETECT SHIPS WITH PROBES;
NO CONSENSUS ON RANGE, BUT I HAVE DECIDED TO MOVE SLOWLY RATHER THAN HAVING TOO LARGE A CHANGE ALL AT ONCE. STARTING OCTOBER 1ST, PROBES WILL DETECT BOTH SHIPS AND PLANETS USING THE SAME PROBE.

STRONG AND CLEAR MAJORITY SUPPORT FOR PLANET OBLITERATION HAVING SOME COST, BUT ONLY 6% OF PLAYERS VOTING TO STOP OBLITERATION ENTIRELY. IN OCTOBER, ONLY COST WILL BE MORALE INITIALLY. I AM RELUCTANT TO MOVE TOO QUICKLY AND RADICALLY ON CHANGES IN SUCH A FUNDAMENTAL ASPECT OF THE GAME.

STRONG MAJORITY SUPPORT FOR PLAYERS BEING ABLE TO RECAPTURE PLANETS GIVEN TO OTHERS, BUT NOT GAINING POINTS FROM DOING SO. THIS WILL TAKE SOME TIME TO CODE AND IMPLEMENT, AND DATA ON PLANETS BEING GIVEN TO OTHERS WILL BE COLLECTED SOON, BUT POINTS WILL NOT BE CHANGED FOR THESE PLANETS UNTIL NOVEMBER ROUND.

STRONG SUPPORT (74% OF PLAYERS VOTING) FOR BUILDINGS BEING ADDED, BUT MAJORITY WANT TO KEEP IT SIMPLE. WE WILL START WITH ONLY THREE BUILDINGS BEING AVAILABLE STARTING IN NOVEMBER ROUND (TO GIVE US TIME TO GET MORALE FORMULA TESTED AND WORKING IN OCTOBER). THESE THREE NEW BUILDINGS WILL BE VOTED ON IN A LATER SURVEY, BUT OPTIONS WILL BE LIMITED AND INITIAL FUNCTIONALITY WILL BE VERY SIMPLE.

STRONG SUPPORT FOR INCREASING BASIC PROBE RANGE AND REDUCING PROBE UPGRADES FROM THREE TO TWO. ALSO SOLID SUPPORT FOR OTHER IDEAS ON PROBE CHANGES, BUT SOME CONFUSION ON THIS QUESTION. SINCE THE QUESTION WAS NOT WELL WRITTEN, THERE WILL BE ANOTHER SURVEY TO RESPOND TO SOON WITH MORE DETAILED QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR VIEWS ON PROBING CHANGES, INCLUDING SHIP PROBING OPTIONS.

SURVEY IS STILL OPEN FOR VOTING RESPONSES IF YOU HAVE NOT VOTED YET, BUT CONSENSUS IS PRETTY STRONG ON MANY ISSUES ALREADY WITH MORE THAN 50 PLAYERS ALREADY VOTING IN THE SURVEY THUS FAR.

As this is a 'secert ballot' but with those choosing to identify themselves as having voted doing so, could we have total transparency with the total number of unique voters at the conclusion of the voting period being revealed, as percentages mean so little without empirical data.

Irrespective of rants, thanks for giving us the chance to influence the game direction in some part. :) I'm heading off to cast my vote now.

So far, number of unique votes is 54. It was 51 when I calculated results shown in post above.

A few issues are still close and undecided. Number of planets is one of those. Many other issues are unlikely to be influenced in winning outcome, unless we get more than 20 additional players voting in the next 18 hours.

Not large. Yours is in second place. That could shift if a lot more people vote strongly for #1 and vote strongly against #2.

Yes, so did some others, but a few players voted quite negatively on that one. Perhaps they did not like the idea of a Warp looking like a star going supernova.
