No it is not normal, but there have been glitches in the system in the past.
Here is my suggestion:
Write Iiridayn a private post, using "system administrator".
I suggest this because one of the standing rules in this game is that if a "bug" is discovered it is to be reported- not exploited. By notifying the "System Administrator" you have made it clear there was/is no desire to exploit the problem.
Maybe a "Private ticket" would also work.
