If we could just randomly generate several images of planets/suns how hard would it be to put those images into a folder and have skylords randomly select when the planets are captured from spc what the planet would look like, I found a website that lets you design your own planet, appropriately named planetmaker ( http://planetmaker.wthr.us/ ) and it has it's own screenshot button and you can change sizes and whatnot (meaning the image size could be made to match the current planet size), obviously there are some issues I don't know if would be a problem.

I agree! Randomly generated planet images would be excellent . The planet image would be selected/generated when the planet is first created, so it wouldn't change with planetary captures. I can't load the site you linked, but I've done some reading in the past about it - eg http://www.diku.dk/hjemmesider/ansatte/torbenm/Planet/, http://donjon.bin.sh/world/, but have perhaps looked for a more complicated solution than we need.

Personally I think this would be a great addition along side giving planets specific production instead of producing all the resources available in SL. |

EL if planets produced only certain resources all that would do is make the non def problem worse and make us have to hunt harder and longer to find planets that produce entirely or mostly troops.

Zygi had Fatelords set up this way in a sense. The planets did not change every time they were captured tho. There were probably 4-5 different planet looks tho and the planets maintained the same look no matter how many times they were captured. I've always said I thought Fatelords was a more advanced game. It seems that when Zygis made SL he took a step backwards. FL seemed to have better graphics and overall game play. Zygi took a few ideas we had to improve FL and just made SL as a newer version. Actually most if not all FL guys came and tried out SL for the first week and hated it, so we went back to playing FL until he shut it down. I eventually came back to SL then, but im not sure anyone else followed. As far as planets and ships tho, they had far more graphics and detail in FL.

if you will go to google images and google Fatelords the first 6 pictures I believe are of the game. A couple a drawings of the ships, and the others are actual screen shots. The drawings seemed to be fairly accurate of what some of the ships looked like
