if there is a god and you live as if there is, then you go to heaven (total gain)

if there is a god and you live as if there isnt, then you go to hell (total loss)

well way i see it from others talking in this area of hell and heaven.
that most of the world will go to hell. Because i ben told ill go to hell if i do this or that or not of the religon or somthing along those lines.

then i say rather live my life and injoy it befor its over if hell where i go then its were i go. (sorry if upset anyone not ment to)

"Think hard and the mechanics that makes out world go around and provides 6 billion of us everything we need.
Think harder about how (despite the combined knowledge of thousand of generations) we have found no such mechanics anywere else in the universe. "

"our world and the universe is too well thought out to be mere coincidence"

So how does this fit then? How is infinite amount of space, with a single, small habitable planet 'well thought out'? Surely you could just build a little planet, put a nice big dome on it and paint on some stars...

anyway, getting back to the main subject, I reckon that this is the only life Im going to have, and every minute is precious. Why waste it on some highly improbably god?

hey, wait a sec, 'every minute is precious', why the hell am i wastin it talkin to you losers? :P

Shaphan, you are exaggerating, a lot. Everyone of those statements. Huge, huge, huge opinion.

You are saying IF there is a god, yet you are trying to convince us that there is, I am a strong christian believer, and I think you are taking the evangelism a little too far. You cannot "push" a religon upon someone or "convince" someone that your religion is true, just show it in your actions and be a good moral person, doing all you do in Christ Jesus. The bible is a very debatable thing, because people interpret it differently. Why do we have the Gospels of Matt, Mark, Luke, and John. They are all their personal interpretations of Jesus' birth, childhood, ect. You have to look at the context of everything, reading one verse of the bible won't make you humble. You can pick at a verse and use it on somebody to pursue them to not do something, or to do something. A verse in Timothy says that women cannot hold authority. Yet the bible has many women leaders, and look at people like the Queen of England, she's a woman, right? She's a sinner apparently. My mom is going to seminary to become a minister at our church. Shaphan sent me the verse in Timothy saying she couldn't be. I asked my mom and she said to look at the context, and who and why the letter was written. In a Psalm, people throw kids at rocks, is that right? Absolutely not, but you cannot say that it's in the bible, so we should do it also. Context Context Context. Choosing a religion is up to the person and their beliefs, why did the Catholic church break up? Why are there so many denominations of Christians. What about Hindu and Islam? Everyone has their own beliefs. I am a Presbyterian, others are Baptist, Jew, ect. I respect their beliefs, and don't push mine on them, but show them that I am a 'good' person, and this reflects on everybody, Christian or not.

"Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be open to you." - Mathew 7:7

It is interesting that advocates of God's existence are seeking to discredit the "Big Bang" theory of evolution. However, personally, I believe BOTH in the existence of God AND in some form of evolution. Not sure how it was done, but I view God as being somewhat of an extremely powerful engineer and creator using power forces but also being subject to natural laws of the universe as well.

In addition, if you READ the story of the creation in Genesis, it is suprisingly similar in sequence to what might be described by someone viewing a fast motion historical recording of an evolutionary process by which our galaxy, earth, and life on earth where created.

In my opinion, science and religion do not need to be opposites. Both are seeking truth and ways to better understand our world. If scientists and students of religion both keep open minds, they may find that there is much that can be learned which is useful in both fields of study. To reject theories from either area without serious consideration is foolishness.

Religion and science have been clashing ideas and beliefs since people were around. Science disproves some of the religion, and religion disproves some of science.

Who created the universe?
God, Big Bang?
Creation, Evolution?
Age of Earth? 4.6 Billion, 10,000 years?

Which one is better? Anybody heard of an issue with the Catholic church and Galelio, in a case arguing about weather or not the sun was the center of the galaxy? Science prevailed there. And the church admitted it, 350 years after Galelio died.

I still am a strong believer in Christ, yet can accept science as well.
