almost all my HW planets are safe (except one taken last round :D) and survived for more then 6 month not even touched....
this experiment was successful.
SL is too slow ant too safe (not like it was 2 years ago).....so, boring, don't you think?

P.S.: sorry for my bad english, as I don't play SL constantly, my english become bad :D

You mean that players rather attack active players than inactives so they can see the digital "look on their face". There is no point in changing game play. Loads of players cán attack and capture HW's but stay in their cribs, if this keeps going on, the HW's will be maxed and noone will do anything...

game is interesting when:
1. you can move forvard (some researching or level upgrade)
2. there is risk (win or lose everyting)

game is NOT interesting when:
1. you can do something or do not nothing - everything the same...
2. you must work hard for a year to do some fun one day

...one or two fun days in a year!!! Who like that idea? :D

I think all of this started when the HW's became a part of the status. In the past when 1500% assaults needed to be trained by hand 1 % at the time, using the sheet to calculate the amount of troops added etc. It was cool to have an assault... Hell... you were a master if you had 2 or 3 at the same time. HW attacks were not an everyday event. But players invested time and troops to do it. Now it is more populair to protect yourself, but 5 HW's doesn't give you status... everybody has at least one HW and it is logical to have one because you need to store your resources somewhere.
It's the mind of the players (and by that, I mean myself too) that need to be changed if we want to change the game. If we all invest more in attacks etc. our defense will be lower and the change to get attacked will be bigger. The points will rise again and the game will turn over. Now it's like a WWI, everybody has dug in and waits for the other to come out of his hole so we can blast him to pieces

I agree with you TD3, reason - in our minds.. but its impossible now to invest more in attacks. HW's with buildings giving a big advantage.. very big.

Exmpl.

1) x20 planet ( simple ) each day can gathering for you 28,800 T only.
2) HW without buildings gathering only from increase - 9,984 ( 104 each 15 min )
3) HW wtih buildings ( x20 shield - x10 using on T growing ) - 57,600 + 9,984 = 67,584 T each day ; If x10 shield and x20 on T growing - 96,384 T

So think about that - If someone has 30 HW's he can get 3,000,000 T each day!

In 1 case - its to big risk to lost that planet.
In 2 case - you can to hold a planet, but you don't geting a big income.
In 3 case - try to retract so nice planet ;)

So.. if we would like to change something in our mind.. need at first to change something in the game, cause now invest more in war is very unwise.

Some of you are amazing that I'm reach a lot of points in one round... I can sure you - its just a start.. in 6 months the fighting for the 1 place will be much more expensive.. and you will see even 5 mil points of single player.

My suggests - to make limit to have HW's with buildings - for exmpl 3-5 HW's. Then.. we will invest in war, cause to have HW's without buildings is almost damage for owners.

Actually 3mln troops is quite a stretch. you would have to base that on unlimited Vital. It's possible if you spent enough that you could do it your way but conservatively speaking from my actual experience,(ie living for renewable production, only buying enough upgrades to get 50 planets per month) it's more likely that production is less than half of that. And no one in my knowledge has 30 max HW's.

The WW1 anology is very good though.....Look what came after that. And it wasn't that small countries that the big countries went after but each other. When the littel countries were involved they got alot of assistance. What SL will be looking like is the old Active and Semi-active Vets funding huge attacks. The newer guys will be awash in aid. The points will fly, 10mln points will be considered reasonable, it will be a different but very violent SL. The good and i should say the very very good thing is, is that the main SL banks are in seperate clans for the most part. and by my count we should be less than a year away before Myself and a few others have no savings options and will have to spend freely.

I am just like a radio. I'm always on and consistantly preach the math that you are so upset about because on a legacy game it makes sense that a large income that you patiently build beats a fast game in the end. :shrug:

I propose nothing. As outside of a brief lull, the new guys will continue to be snatched up and will be given all that they need in order to be foot soldiers. They will be active, they will not want for anything, the attacking will be glorious. If we accept SF's proposals then all that happens is that we go back to the road where no hw is the best answer as it will be better to get rid of all of your HW's and spend all of your res attacking, There will be alot of attacking, but in the end we'll have no Hw's in order to attack. That also sucks. If tactically it makes no sense to have HW's then they will dissapear like last time.

First of all I agree completely with Bert, when I run across a new player I pm them to make sure they are active and help them if possible. Since I work nights I catch a few cries for help from new players stuck in the newbie arena and attempt to walk them through whatever troubles they are having. Because this game will not survive without new players, and SF although I admire your skill and cunningness I despise the fact that U use noobs as opportunities to increase your planet count. And I whole heartily agree that this is a war game but just as in real war there is a thing called compassion and I am afraid you are morally bankrupt in that category As for the game as a whole now I find it much more interesting then it was before professor made the changes. As a matter of fact had he not changed the game I certainly wouldn't still be playing. And on a final note Agux I personally monitored that planet for 6 months until the resources reached the level that made it worthwhile to capture
