I believe this won't affect the stats as there already are records of "no such player" in statistic pages.

if accounts will be closed, it will affect players by total points. I remember BethorScion closed his account and he disappeared from the list... So the same can happen to zyx and some others, I'd like players who are on top50 lists, should not be deleted even if they close their accounts.

deleting players off the top points stats is like deleting part of the history of the game they must stay

well, september is already passed, so when these thousands of accounts will be deleted? Maybe it will help to speed up the game
