Starting in May round, we will be implementing something new in the code to recognize and honor skylords sponsors.

Not sure exactly how it will work, but there will be some symbol by a players name in statistics to show when a player has contributed more than $10.00 in support of skylords during a single month.

We also may have some new features added for those who have contributed to the game, which will not give new technologies or features, but which might include something like a special forum only open to game donors. They also may be able to have something like more stars showing for experience if we can figure out how to do this.

I think there has been enough bashing of people who buy credits, and the resulting decline in market prices is a reflection of this attitude that paying for credits is somehow bad or dishonorable. Those who strongly object to players purchasing credits on a volentary basis might be better off in another game of their choice, as I do not intend to see this game be destroyed due to lack of funding or incentives to keep it operating. You managed to persuade Zygi to walk away due to lack of motivation or incentives, but it will not be as easy to get rid of me. Nor will it be easy to get rid of some offering of benefits or advantages to others who provide funding for and help to sponsor the game.

The ice has been broken :D
A minor, but still a step in the right direction. Nice ;)

As for funding - don't seek the problem here. Just go to astrowars.com. Huge money collected there. And players do not get any advantage which hides their real potential. They also have a market. They also spend resources (production points) to get credits (astrodollars). They also spend credits (astrodollars) to buy upgrades (artifacts). But they do not get astrodollars for real money. And that is beautiful.

Sl is much more attractive game, but the beauty of competition here is far away from the competition beauty there.
I‘ll take one sentence from Iiridayns interviw :) :

"I have a very strong sense of honor (my word is my bond), and
learned at a younger age that cheating wasn't fun". That's what i respect and find in myself. And while cheating at least requires imagination, ideas, skills and is very risky here buying credits simply requires no efforts and no skills. And when the power gained is not equal to the skills shown it is not a competition anymore.

I did not say buying credits was bad. I said people could abuse it buying not having a cap. this is a good step.

Prorff Im pretty sure were the game havning problems with funding people would buy creds to fund the game... there was never anyproblem with people buying creds but with people buying too mnay creds... so dont make it sound like..... anyone was bashing anyone and everyone that bought creds.....
anyway... you had already solved the prob with setting the cap... but nntheless... a good decission... I just dont like the above note you left.... buying creds doesnt make you more experienced than anyone..... ]:-(..... no one told zygi to give up the game.... that was his own decision......

Good on you to honor the players that contribute to the game though.... I just hope you find a good way to do so....

MoM: Sure sounded like it to me. And if I didn't quite get that it wasn't all credit buyers that were getting attacked, I'd propose that it is lkely that others didn't either ;P. Also, he wasn't implying they had more experience, just that they would possibly have their experience shown beyond 5 stars.

others wernt?.... :S...... this is a discussion not a a pre-school argument.... why would you attack people that dont buy creds saying they buy too many creds?.... (well its not like you were bother non cred buyers abput creds... :S... thas what that sounds like to me )....
as for more stars.... what are stars for?.... experience.... exactly.... if you have more stars than someone else what does that imply?.... oh wait you got those cux you bought credits...... :S..... this arguments isnt even valid I have no idea why Im posting on it...incresing stars because one buys credits is a ridiculous idea.... and thats that.....

MoM, get over it. There will be some benefits for purchasing credits to support the game. They might be benefits which have zero affect on game strategy or performance, like the ability to show more stars, or they may be benefits which increase convenience in playing.

I appreciate people who support the game, and I will reward game contributors in some ways other than just credits since it appears that the purchase of credits is annoying to some players.

MoM: "sounded like it to me" -- means that even if it didn't sound like it to you, it did to me :P. It's one of those point of view things ;P. And, as far as stars (if we decide to do something like that) are concerned, it won't be giving them more experience, it will be displaying their experience to greater effect :P. Please read the whole post before writing a response next time :P.

The stars thing is one of many ideas being kicked around. If that particular one is bad, it won't be used :P. If it is good, it will.
