As for the comment about players buying more than 5000 credits in a month, I think there have been only four players who have done that. Only one has been in the top 10 players list in the month when buying credits. Mostly, players do that when they have lost a massive HW (like in the October / November timeframe) and they want to survive and not lose vet status.

Very few new players buy credits. Credit buyers are mostly vets who have been arround a while. I am the most frequent "abuser" of the credits for cash system, with my largest period of buying credits being last summer before the market was online. I traded T and E for credits with many players in the game at that time, and bought a lot of credit then, which when to pay for the cost of having the server transferred and set up by Zygi before he finally signed off of the game and left it to Iiridayn and I to manage.

If you do not like the market and do not like players having the ability to pay for credits to help support the costs of the game, then play something else. I won't mind! Heck, I also play other games myself, but I like this game a lot and even liked it enough to buy it to keep it up and running. If Zygi had wanted to keep it up and running, I would have been okay with that as well, and if someone else wants to own it (as long as I felt I could trust them not to mess it up), I would probably be okay with that as well.

At the end of the day if you spend the money you get the rewards, at the end of the day If you read my topic in support, this type of buying speeds up the game, I have 2 homeworlds at a reasonable defence, and one player has even attacked the turrents, but no one has tryed to take them down

so no answer to my question then?..... anway yeah I finally read it all.... the changes...... meh..... not much done..... but wha can I say.. at least you cant rebuy your HW in one round.... though if you cant build a HW with 10 mil T you prolly shouldnt play SL anymore cuz Youd Suck....
No calculation necessary..... I hope youve all realized that lvl 4 buildings with 0.5 % interest works out to more surplus than lvl3 buildings with 1% interest. you just have to learn how to do a bit of erm.... "working" of the market....... normally I wouldnt say anything about stuff like this but Proff's been pullin stuff like this for quite some time now.... but then again..... hes managed to "please" the sl community..... at least he wont be getting 300K points for the increased amount of recs hell be gainging next round..... but no points means we wont know exactly how much hes gained..... on the flip side..... under the new system.... this new twist on things should make things a bit more erm... livelyer.... should be more attacking..... you have to work a bit harder to change you surplus from buildings and interest to pure Def... if not youre HW will just become a nicer target worth attacking...... conversions which requires a bit more thinking and skill than the previous "utilize-your-pocketbook" system........ so that at least Im grateful for..... though we all know proff has no prob applying a bit of extra thinking.... so this new twist wont affect him much..... hes been exercising his brain power for quite sometime now..... ...... Im just waiting for ohters to realize it..... all in all..... the changes are erm...... what couldve been expected.... ........
Proff works by popular demand...... its too badd though that smarts and rational thinking arnt...... hence he'll always play this "Benefactor" role hes been playing...... quite business like actually..... I admire that Proff.... lol......

As for the changes, fair compromise. Although I'm confused about the statement about buildings. do you mean no new buildings or no aditional level of buildings? Reading the comments about level 4 buildings is making me wonder.

Now about credits, the next time you pirate a ship, just remember that they might have paid money for the troops you just stole. might make you feel better.
