I think you seriously missed the point. Like, you missed both the point and the metaphorical object upon which the point resides ;P. I summed it up thus: "So age and computers are clearly not mutually exclusive". I proved this by providing several counter examples. I could also point out to you that while I know less about medicine than some (this will likely change in the future, as I'm planning to go into medical nanotechnology), I'm confident that I can find a programmer somewhere that also has an M.D.

Also, I can quote random stuff at you ;P. The first programmer died in 1852 -- over 150 years ago. Most accomplishments are first realized long before they're common. One fun one that never took off (sadly) was a redesigned piano keyboard looking more like a computer keyboard (created in the late 1800s / early 1900s by a Dutch piano maker, iirc).

Can't decide if this is worth posting or not, so posting it anyway :P.

I feel you also missed my point. I go twhat youre saying but in essence you reposted exactly what Im trying to say..... " Most accomplishments are first realized long before they're common."...... so by your own reasoning..... it is then safe to say that computers a in general, are "new"..... and claasifying logically based on the term "new"..... its means NOT Old.... as in time past which is equivalent to years..... so no knowing how to use a computer has nothing directly to do with How Old you are per say..... but seeing as how computers are a "generally" new item... it would logically mean that the "youner" aka. "newer" generation would know more about computers and logically have more exposure to computers than "older" folk.... older not directly reffering to your age but what "time period" youre from..... which would then logically make you "older" in years....... :).....
Or a serious lover of the old way... or if you grew up with you gradmother who is.....
:D :)......

*and that sounds like a bunch o gibberish... but for those who can appreciate the gentle suttleties of the english language..... :D......

B).......

but the older folk are the people who create the newer things so hence they know more about the new things than the new people :P

And I proffered a single counter example ;P. You should admit that they exist, at least :P. (Which, as stated, is and was my point). Simple enough for you?

Can't we just go back to arguing about credits?

Prof, my suggestion, don't "fix" credits. they will just find something else to complain about, like how long it took to think up the idea for SL, develop it, and see it evolve into what it is today.

wow, 40 posts. I better slow down or I'm going to break my 3 posts per month average.

And thanks for bringing us back to topic Moiare. Only 40 posts? sounds like a symptom of malnourishment. :spam: twice a day, and you'll have it up in no time.
This is by no means an encouragment for spam--- down with spam!

Now back to topic...
I don't understand the problem. Mostly because I disagree with RBA's position that the game is all about points, who has the most. Sure, Skylords pays the winners of a few specific stat leaders at the end of the round. But, thats not why I play.

I believe everyone has the right to play for their own reasons as stated in the skylords features page (url http://www.skylords.com/game/features ).
- Choose your way of life; become a warrior, miner, trader, spy or pirate.
- Create your real life, here, on Skylords Universe.

No matter what happens, someone somewhere somehow will not be happy.
Do what u will. That is the law. <<< who said that first?

Believe me, no one is fighting for those awards at the round end, if we can call them awards at all :)

But the game is first of all competition. Points are just one of a lot of measurements. Posts made for someone are as important as points made for another. Every game is alive by the thrill it brings. Just don't tell me you don't care your clan rankings - players and clans position is the essential thrill in the game. The thrill in the forums is just a consiquence. And where should we see that thrill when there are secret racers using doping? Do we call it a competition? And could anyone frankly tell me whether i'm able to say "that was a good race" to someone after it? Clan victory brings glory and respect. So can i frankly say "congratz" when i'm not sure whether a player or clan diserved my salute?

And when you can't say frankly "congratz" it is not ok.
