Why can't the clan leader unsticky or sticky ANY topic??

I thought this was fixed???

It's been on the list for a long time. And in moments of free time recently, I've begun reading the forum code, so the fix is on the horizon.

Lol. I considered it, but in truth, well written code is its own reward . See, I program to relax . Also, after seeing what I've seen, I've half a mind to rewrite the forums... . I suspect Zygi wrote them before anything else, since the coding style is a bit different (especially as regards whitespace ), and they don't seem to be as efficient as they could be. (For instance, when fixing topics so they're read with the change I made to the list of read topics, I was able to replace a query with a function call (which prolly calls a query ;P, but it's a much more optimized query)). Also, the code seems almost clumsy at times (which I hope my earlier efforts get to be called, as opposed to harmful ;P), and there are places he uses something like he's testing it, which is standard in the rest of the code (can see plenty of that in mine, btw ;P).

Hmm, back on topic. I'll prolly have flags back in first (been on my mind off and on for a while, so I can prolly code it reasonably fast by now), so by the time I get those done it may be an indication that clan code is on the horizon (I'll have to stop myself from rewritting the forums first prolly though ;P. Not done reading them yet -- we'll see if I can work with what I have). ... Btw, aside from the formalized diplomacy (Sr/Jr clans included ) and forum moderation updates, was there anything else?

Clan Co-leaders like pres/vice pres so that clan functions can be done twice as quickly. When you pm the clan leader it could go to each of us. As for linking the Jr and Senior clans the Jr clan leaders will need to be able to see the Senior clan forum. A Junior clan should be a direct offshoot of the senior clan if they elect to have one. So Junior clans could not just be set up. It would be a clan function of the senior clan leader. "Create Junior Clan" then Name of the Junior Clan, "Junior Clan Leader" then the senior clan leader would elect them, The "Junior clan Co-leader" then elected. So They would still be senior clan but elected by the senior leader to oversee the junior clan and have clan leader powers over the Junior clan. The Co-leaders would also have the ability to "eject" a fellow Co-leader if they have been inactive for over a week. Also Auto erase for topic over a month old, unless designated as a saved topic. And the ability to erase topics like you can messages so you can go back and delete alot of topics quickly for the forum moderators. A clear limit would also let us know what is fluff and what needs to be saved. Anything over 2 pages on a clan forum is ancient.

As for the forums, If you rewriting it speeds everything up and we could prob run double and slow for a couple of days to be able to swap all relevant topics over to the new system. without much b!tching..

Thats Cause Zgyis Did not program the forums, that was done by kelmas i believe, or one of the other coders.

Zgyis programmed most of the game play but not the forums, And would rewritting the forums be practical?

Abe: Makes a lot of sense. And prolly not really, which is why I'll have to stop myself from doing it ;P.

Bert: It would be live, and no need to transition over (as the code is quite modular). And, how about just a few of those at a time? ;P. Also, was considering having the Junior clan have control over the linkage (since the senior clan has the power in the relationship otherwise, able to view the Jr forum and such); as a way of balancing power more (if the Sr clan mistreats the Jr clan, they can leave, or whatever ;P). Anyway, the clan levels thing should be doable, but I'll have to look more into it later.

No prob I know all of these thing take time, And I know that they won't come overnight but a would like to eventually have.

But as for the junior clan decideing to leave they could still do that, you just seperate yourself from the clan and set up a new one. A Jr clan is Jr to a senior clan. There should not be a balance of power, that is why it is a Jr clan.

Just a little thing that has been annoying me for as long as I remember...the mouse over when you go over a public forum topic, you see that general little picture of the first post...for Clan Forum too?
