Prices are declining simply beacause no one has attacked this round cept for proff. and with the ammount of points he has gained no one else is bothering to try and win the round..... hence...... everyone is trying to get creds to keep their plannet limit at where theyre at. but the problem is. no ones buying any T so they cant get creds to do so.... Heence the price keeps lowering because they need the creds.... E is at its all time low now.....
But its abou tto get lower.... ;).......
cuz I need creds too. :P.........

Well, if you look at news recently, it appears that SOMEONE else is attacking.

And, in the past two hours, three players who have not purchased credits before have asked about how to set up an account with paypal to be able to do so.

And, as for the Lith player who asked about buying credits, I understand that paypal is not available for use with a Lith credit card, but I will promise to work out a solution with a Lith player as intermediary such that you can pay in Lith currency in some way. There may need to be a minimum purchase or an intermediary involved, but I promise that there will be a way for you to spend local currency to buy credits. Worst case, you could mail a check to Zygi and I could work out some arrangements to receive funds from him over time.

Any transactions costs paid by a Lith player to be able to purchase credits, such as bank wire fees, will be paid by the game, and the player will receive 100% credit for all costs paid by the player for the credits. There will be no transactions cost paid by any player.

For most people, paypal is free and easy to use, and works well with US, European, and Asian bank accounts. Even China can use paypal now, so it can be used almost worldwide, although there are still a few countries were it does not work well, including, much to my annoyance, Lithuania.

It is a VERY big mistake that resourses can sell system, not only players. Many problems who describe above come from it.

I was finding it very interesting that if the game didn't sell resources at the maximum price, the price caps would have created a shortage of certain resources.

Any time you take a market that is based on supply and demand, and impose minimum or maximum prices on it you will create artificial surpluses and shortages. Here we are seeing that the maximum price on G and S have made those resources more valuable to produce than you can sell them for. It is impossible for players to compete with the infinite supply the game produces at an artificially low price. I suspect any selling of these resources is a sign of a player who desparately needs credits.

I understand the intention of the minimum and maximum prices, but think there is a better solution. Instead of having these values hardcoded, why not make the minimum and maximum price a player could sell something based off a percentage of the current price. For example, say you can sell items at + or - 20% of the current price, and Troops were selling for 50, this would restrict the next player to post his troops within a range of 40 to 60. The problem of players keeping resources on the market has already been eliminated with the use of interest on HW's and the fact that resources placed on the market stay on your planet until sold.

At this point I see the price caps as unneeded and unfair. To anyone who's lost a HW lately, you can bet people were buying artificially cheep S to build fighters. I highly doubt there are many players who could afford to build turrets for deffense, and the amount of fighters required to take a HW if there wasn't an unlimited supply of cheep S on the market.

It looks like probing is having similar effects on Gold prices also.

I wanna sell gold for higher than the market Price. Professor If you remove the caps fron the Def Recs why are there Cpas on the Gold and Silicon Prices..?.....

What kinda flamed Market is htis when I cant sell recs.. for WHTEVER PRICE I WANT?..... Like Filas said..... the problem before was people storing their Hws on the Market for rediculous prices....n now that your REcs stay on your plannet.... why are there still caps?.......

Okay, I agree that caps are bad. However, I did say no changes until April, and caps have been there for a long time. There were no caps on prices removed. The caps on troops and energy are still 100 price per unit for each. The caps on the other resources are at 50.

However, I do agree that caps should go. I promise you that on March 31, at midnight, that will be the first change to be made. The cap as a ceiling price on silicon and gold will be increased to 200 price per unit, and the price caps on troops and energy and all other resources will also be raised to 200 price per unit. At that price level, I doubt anyone will buy at max prices, and there should be at least someone willing to sell for significantly lower than max prices.

This might cause some degree of market speculation, but I intend to keep my promise of no changes until end of March round. For better or worse, I agreed and committed to make no changes during the February and March rounds. I will abide by that promise, with the exception of fixes to *s or errors in the game code implementation or operations, and with the exception of the newbie missions, which are finally done now.

SO MAKE THE CHANGE TO REMOVE CAPS AND STOP FEEDING THE SL COMMUNITY WITH THIS CRAP ABOT NO CHANGES. .....YOU CHANGED HALF A PROBLEM SO REMOVE THE TEMPORAY SOLUTION YOU HAD WHICH HAS BECOME JUST AS MUCH OF A PROBLEM...... AND DO THE REST OF THE CHANGE.....

you did say that, but still did changes.. All changes you did were just to help you to attack LTC, so, of course, you could call it fixing * :D but when you have real *, then you need to wait until april, as you promissed to do no changes (if these changes would not help you...)
