I think exactly 1000 is still nearby (and better safe than sorry), and if ANY of x, y, or z are w/in 1000 (or equal, as already stated) it is nearby. Pretty simple.

well like I say at the moment I am using the distance functions from the I-Flight page and if it says the planet is less than 1500 then it is in nearby.. But yeah I will change it after I have posted this so it is 1700...

Yes, that is the straight line distance... Which nearby doesn't use ;P.
