good idea, Chaos: you get moreale points for size of HW. and maybe morale could become useful as in increasing attack/defence power on top of ship experience

Oblit was always necessary. By the way, a bit of a trick, sort of, but you can transfer a planet to an inactive player if all you want to do is keep it handy to take later. Then, defense stays at zero (or whatever it was when you left it), and it is easy to retake later when you need it.
