You sure?
No active clans beside us except LTC and SC and it doesn't seem like they are aiming for 1st place (SC lost Neggy, not that it means much, but it's an excuse) and LTC are rebuilding after winning last round

good idea, Chaos: you get moreale points for size of HW. and maybe morale could become useful as in increasing attack/defence power on top of ship experience ;)

Oooo. I like that! Morale tied in with HW size. Makes sense to me.

Morale is a variable I had high hopes of using, but which has proven to be very controversial, probably due to my view that obliterating planets is not good for morale of the citizens.

I still dislike obliterating planets, but I admit that it is a critical feature of the game as the game has evolved and developed. Someday, perhaps there will be viable alternatives, but for now, obliterating is critial to successful defense.

Oblit was always necessary. By the way, a bit of a trick, sort of, but you can transfer a planet to an inactive player if all you want to do is keep it handy to take later. Then, defense stays at zero (or whatever it was when you left it), and it is easy to retake later when you need it.
