I will be sponsoring a new player initiative! I will not comment on clans, their composition or what I think they should be. Those are all things you must decide!

This will be a contest between clans. The clan that has added the most active players to its ranks will be awarded 1 planet that is 20x with lots of buildings. One per new player in their clan whether the player is new or old.

The first leg of this contest will end July 31st with rewards being handed to the clan leader or whoever they so choose.

There are no rules other than be honorable. This is not a poaching competition.

Bring the player in and have them join or simply grab someone who joins randomly or an old friend!

Let's rock this adventure!

I think that this sort of contest is a step in the right direction. Ideally, you may want to offer new players a 'new player startup package' of some sort. A larger transport, and a decent amount of troops + iron.

One of the problems as a new player is that starting is too slow, I have to wait 24+ hours after capturing my first 6 planets before i'm able to do anything because I am out of troops. The starter transport is too small to collect resources comfortably (too many back and forth trips).

In addition to this contest I would consider recruiting on a couple of social platforms, mainly reddit (i've seen that this has been done) and other frequented gaming forums. Let people know that the game is being revitalized, and that the community has agreed to support new players so that they can 'catch up' and actually be able to hold their own against the veterans. Explain that you'd like feedback, regardless if they decide to play the game or not, because at this stage in the game's development that is far more important than a larger player-base. You already have a small group of extremely loyal and dedicated players, which is much more than most games have.

The devs are currently working on getting set up to work effectively together. There is a bit of recoding left they want to get done. After that one of the priorities is the new player experience. We have not entirely figured out what way we want/need to go but feedback like this certainly is a big help!

We do have probably one of the best communities out there. That is why we are all here 13 years later. When this contest was conceived it was more focused on fostering care for the people who already join. We have had 20+ registrations a day the last 2 days. Also if someone recruits a friend they already have the support system required as the beginning is a bit steep. Before we go mass recruiting we need the new player missions modified. Which of course seems you are already aware and have given us feedback

On the subject of missions-
1. Private messages receiving and sending needs to be one.
2. Market, buying and selling
3. Voting.
All of these are basic skills which seem to be assumed to be natural.
