Confession is a good thing: public admission of a wrong action is difficult, and it should probably help in your sentencing. I believe that you were a new player and may not have understood the importance of the market in the overall strategy of this game.

I had figured that someone with a lot of built-up credits was manipulating the market for personal gain by buying up the available resources and then offering them for sale at a higher price (which is a legal move, and I have no problem with folks doing that); however, your method distorted the market using non-existent credits and resources, just like our greedy financial institutions did to the American economy.

I'm thinking that some form of public service to the Skylords community would be an appropriate sanction. I have a pretty good idea of how you did this, but I do not want to discuss it here. Those abilities could be utilized for good to help Iiri and William improve the game and harden it against unscrupulous players.

And here is a suggestion that I think would improve the game and provide some tracking abilities for the administrators: Whenever a player's goods are sold on the market, an entry like "You sold 400,000 units of Troops at 24 credits" would be added to the player's board computer entries. Whenever a player purchases goods on the market, a board computer entry like "You purchased 200,000 units of Ur at 15 credits" would be added.

look the problem Charles zi Britannia is that the game crashed for a very long time not so long ago and has only recently(december) come back online the reason that everyone is royally annoyed with u is that wen this game crashed we lost contact with a lot of friends who played weve now got the game back our friends r slowly returning and someone goes and hacks the game which if something had gone wrong coulda crashed the game again

thats my view on the whole matter

I'm electing not to pass judgent at this time I'll say my piece on a possible punishment after I've had time to think. I'm not going to mention any names, but I know quite a few players that have gotten into trouble, multiing offences of publice swearing that got their accounts banned then reopened a new account have have been nothing up upstanding players since.

Keeping this in mind I think that it is best to accept that wrong was done and give you a carfully observed second chance. I also think that those who made purchases with you should have all their credits refunded.

But I also agree with SS, this game was once played just as much for the activity as it wasfor talking to old friends many of whom we've never met. I hate to think how devestating this could have been if there was a second crash. Since there wasn't that is why I think you should be allowed a second chance.

I know.... What I did was wrong yes indeed General and FORTRANshadow. Although I am hated yes Ill have to change my name but I believe I need to do something for the community... I never knew it crashed (The news never said anything nor did I read it and understand it before getting into the game and screwing it up like I did) and to be honest that made me feel more like *hit for what I did and makes me want to help out even more. And I know you, everyone on this site/game don't trust me with anything and I understand your thoughts because I was on a game and got hacked once and lost everything and it stuck with me. Hours, days, and weeks of work GONE to nothing!! But causing and inflicting this on such a small online game like this with such nice and good players it made me feel sick to my stomach.... All I can say now is I will do anything in my power to fix what I have done, I wish to take part in this community of close friend and help put this game back on its feet like it once had been.

actually Iiri already fixed it with a server rollback, which unfortunately killed all of will's improvements, so he'll have to reimplement those :/

but the bug is fixed now (yay)
