By the way, buying troops on a planet at the exact moment that someone else is capturing it can be risky, in that troops MIGHT be lost, or might go to the new owner of the planet, or might not be sold at all. This purchase via the market at the same time as a planet is captured creates a form of database update race condition where it is possible that the market tries to give you the resources on a planet that you no longer own, so your troops end up being transferred into the vacuum of space and dying.

My advice is not to try to time transfers exactly to the second of planet capture, but to put defense on the planet from the market well before you drop below 1.5 milllion defense on the planet, or you might be sending your troops (or energy) into the vacuum of space to be destroyed as the transfer takes place to a planet which is no longer yours after the capture.

Worst case, you might actually end up giving those defensive resources purchased to the new owner of the planet, although it is more likely that they will simply be lost and destroyed due to being transferred to a planet which you no longer own.
