oh...but is that a part of the world taekwon-do federation or the international taekwon-do federation? Or is it independent?

im pretty sure its independant cuz ive never seen signs or ads for wtf or itf at tournaments

Hmmm...

I'm a member of National Taekwon-do Norway, which is a part of ITF. I looked up the ATA online, and you're definitely not a part of ITF. Your belt colors are weird! A camo belt?

never heard of camo belt

They're still different from ours though...

We have white, yellow, green, blue, red, black. Plus there's a grade between each of these, symbolized by a stripe in the color of your next belt (Usually a piece of colored tape ). Except between red and black; you have to have three black stripes before you can go for your black belt.

I only know what I read on the internet.

Back in the day I was in American Karate...Which is called Martial Arts of America now.
I only made it to brown belt. Was in it for 2 yrs. My 7 yr. old was also in it for 1 yr. He made up to Jr. orange belt.... I also learned hand to hand combat in the military...9yrs. Just wanted to brag alittle...Good for you guys keep up the good work.

well ya we have stripes too.. u have to get 3 stripes on each belt b4 u can move to the next.. so to get a yellow belt u gotta get a white one wit 3 yellow stripes first.. it goes that way all the way up to back.. then at black we have 4 degrees.. im at my 3rd.. the higher u go the harder it is to test into the next level... cuz i remember back when i went from orange to green i had to have numbers 1-10 memorized in korean and had to do like 4 different stances... but then from red to black i had to have 1-100 memorized, had to do 10 stances, and had to be able to show mental maturity and be respectfull and helpfull to all around me... the degrees arnt really very hard tho.. you just have to show proper ediqate (prolly mispelled) all the time and be able to carry out each strike and stand with precise focus

wow, i wish I got in to taekwon-do at an earlier age. I'm pretty out of shape (skin and bones) at age 20... But I do have to maintain a certain amount of fitness for the volenteer fire department here in this small town...
