This is pretty much all I "know"

Stress Positions, also know as submission positions, are considered a form of torture to some. Stress positions place the human body in such a way that a great amount of weight is placed on just one or two muscles. For example, a subject may be forced to stand on the balls of their feet, then squat so that their thighs are parallel to the ground. This creates an intense amount of pressure on the legs, leading first to pain and then muscle failure. http://www.answers.com/topic/stress-positions

Contrary to popular belief, there's little evidence to show that taking an exercise to the point of concentric muscle failure is necessary to stimulate gains in muscle strength. http://www.thefactsaboutfitness.com/news/muscle.htm

good point max yes the military does do that but not only to build your mind but to breake you all down and rebuild 60 men into 1 body one mind a unit which will live and die together. For the guys you go to boot camp or basic with will be friends and family for life.

Not THOSE stress positions...

Something like holding your arms to your sides for a long time or doing a "wall sit?"
