just came back home from the stadion... England fighted very well, but all finished similar to 1998 play with Argentine, just instead of Beckham, this time red card got Rooney (btw, what have he done - it was hard to understand the real reason of red card in the stadium?)

well i reckon he got a yellow for stamping on hi nuts and then another yellow for pushing ronaldo so thats a red, thats the only logical way around it i think

He got a straight red so it can only be one or the other.

I doubt it was the stamping, that looked accidental to me, Carvalho fell over and took Rooney down with him, there was little he could have done about it. Also if you watch a replay, the referee doesn't reach for his pocket for a card until Rooney shoves someone.

Personally I was disgusted with that referee, England should have had one definate penalty, if not two for handball and a pretty horrid tackle on Aaron Lennon. Yes, Nuno Valente got the ball, but only after going straight through Aaron Lennon, normally a penalty. As for the handball, he moved his arm in the way of a cross that was going to an unmarked Frank Lampard in the middle of the penalty area. Then to top it all off? Making Carragher re-take a penalty because he started to run up before the referee blew his whistle, something he is entitled to do so long as he does not strike the ball!

Diabholical, referee's have ruined this World Cup on so many levels, Germanys equaliser was dodgy for shoving in the penalty area, the French 2nd goal was nothing short of abysmal refereeing for falling for Henrys 7.9 dive on the edge of the penalty area with a forward spin and a triple back somersault... it's just been a really disappointing World Cup in general.

I tell you, if that man gets the World Cup final, we're in for one disappointing final

Aye, but the referee didn't act until Ronaldo gestured or was pushed, he also winked at his bench which just makes me wonder even more. I got the dartboard out of the Sun today, really cracked me up (Ronaldos face on a dartboard)
