Ok, so I came up with a new idea for a building. I'm not sure how hard it would be to program, but what about this:

The Planetary Launch Pad would be a new building. It would take 15M Def to build lvl 1, 30M for lvl 2, 45M for lvl 3, and 60M for lvl 4. This building would allow you to launch spaceships at faster speeds. For each lvl of building, the speed doubles up to lvl 4 where spaceships can go 16 times faster then normal THAT ARE DOCKED ON THE PLANET. The building costs would be 8,000 Silicon, 4,000 Iron, 2000 Gold, and 10,000 Hydrogen, (we really do need more uses for Hydrogen I think) and of course doubling for each lvl after. It would take 2:00 to build the first lvl, and doubling for each lvl after. It would keep working even if it doesn't have enough def on planet. Ships launched from it would still use same amounts of Uranium. A new button would be added to the left side when viewing a planet which would take you to a menu to pick a ship on the same parasec as the planet, or added to the Manage Buildings screen.

One good affect it would have would be more player owned BZ planets.

P.S. Reading this over, maybe 16x faster is a bit much. :D

One thing tho...maybe it should cost a crud load of uranium to launch the ship...maybe 3x the loaded uranium for the launch pad to activate

I was thinking about that, but what about instead of Uranium, Hydrogen? Like say because of each level of the launching pad it allows ships that wouldn't have the ability to use Hyper Drive a slight ability to use it more and more, thus allowing greater speeds from it. Plus, we do need more uses for Hydrogen. ;)

you already paid to have the pad put in why do we need higher cost for Uranium

Yes. maybe 3x (in hydrogen and uranium) the uranium on the ship.

I think that the distances traveled and uranium required would be normal, but since the launch pad is optional, the 3x in uranium and hydrogen should be chunked out of the planet resources

the pad could only be used once every 15 mins with a 75 % chance of success (deep space or not). This would keep balance in the game and make players wary of using them, since it's an every 15 min thing (failure or not)

edit: And if someone used the launch pad with deep space, the chance of success would be about 65%! How about that?

Hmm think of useing it at lvl 4 with deep space... 21 times faster then just extreme speed? :hellno: lol

Ya 75% chance would be good, maybe 80% instead just add a tiny bit more success, and if you used deep space with it also it would go down to 60%.

The possible unsuccess would be blamed on your space ship blowing up. :D

Also, you could even have it so for each lvl, say theres a 2-3% better chance of successful flight because the technology gets better. Or even a new secret technology you could buy giving you 100% success.
