The new programmer is not a player in the game. He will be using the system administrator account. He may also play under his own account, if he wants to do so in order to better understand what players are talking about, but his primary responsibilty will be to maintain and upgrade code over time. He is from Sri Lanka, and will be paid for his time in supporting the game. I am also in the process of negotiating a transfer of game ownership over the next few months to the company that he works for. However, this will not mean that I will be leaving the game, and I will still be involved since I am one of the members of the Board of Directors of that company. The departure of Iriidayn on his Mission for our church has required me to make some decisions and changes. I considered selling the game to an unrelated buyer, but decided that I was not ready to give up control and there were too many players who did not like that idea, so I will still be responsible for guiding and directing development, but with a new programmer to work on the code now in order to make that possible.
