bored of taking production planets ?
ever had the feeling of defending a planet, the adrenaline kick ?

well, what about making a little event - guess everybody of you knows the game "king of the hill"

THE KING OF THE PLANET EVENT


i will donate a planet

everybody will get the coords and the one who holds the planets the longest time, is the king of the planet

rules:
* don't obliterate the planet; defend it, leave it, but don't obliterate, you would spoil the fun of everyone else.
* no allies, no naps are in effect in that territory, so you can attack, pirate whatever you want
* don't make the planet an uncapturable HW, dont raise def over 100k (noobs should be able to participate aswell)
* don't rename the planet

send whatever you want, fighters, spies, assaults, invisible ships

time: i would say a timeframe of 4 hours would be good, with the logs the winner can then be determined. (given that the logs work )
since not all can be on at the same time, the event should run several times (donations for prices are welcome)

1st place: ....
2nd place: ....
3rd place: .....
(to be determinde by donations - i donate 100k T)

any thoughts, objections ?

PS: nearby is a HW, so don't bother checking nearby.

One suggestion though. give some peculiar name and don't allow anybody to change name while the contest is on.

This is great, I know Chaos will agree that defending a planet is so much more fun than just capturing, obliterating and moving on, it makes the game what it really should be like.

The best times I have on here are when I capture planets and try to keep them and the previous owner wants them back. I rarely manage to keep them but it's fun trying

Great idea, I'm in. Let's just not put any resources into planet (especially defencive ones) unless they will be used to build fighters immediatly.
Also, I'll be quite busy, tell me when you have time.

I really like this idea, and since I wont be participating in the jumble Im making a very nice donation

150K Gold

100K Uranium
150K Hydrogen

Now, my idea for the uses, the Troops go to the winner. The ship-building resources are kept on the planet in small quantities and make a rule that you may only construct ONE fighter to defend the area, thus allowing everyone else a chance with the resources.

Then, as a "first blood" prize you put the other various resources on the planet for the players to get, while the Energy could be used as a points incentive to capture the planet first.

What's the point? People would cheat anyway so let them build as many fighters as they want, but make it a rule - anyone using any other fighter besides 500 attack and 500 defence one, will be disqualified.
