Does anybody have any suggestions in how to remove a busted screw out of its hole?

I bought a metal chair, and one of the bolts used to hold it upright broke in half... one half in the little hole, one half fell ohn the floor... I tried a couple of things, but they didn't work...

I would REALLY like some help if anybody here has an answer to my problem...

Thats happened to me before. You'll need to drill it out.

There's a special tool, for removing broken screws.
I forget what they're called, but you can buy at
hardware store or even probably WalMart.

First you drill hole down shaft of the bolt.
Then this tool inserts screwing in backward
it grips into the bolt and unscrews it.

If you don't want to buy special tool then
drill and then find two nails which will almost
fit in the hole together. Insert one and hammer
in the other. Then bend nails in opposite dir. and see if
this gives you enough torque to unstrew the bolt.
If not try a third nail to really wedge it in tight.
In fact try to start with three.

Third alternative. Take chair to nearby metal shop
or possibly an automotive repair shop. If they're not
real busy you can probably talk a mechanic into
drilling it out for a couple of bucks.

Regards,
Magog

Cool! thanks... I'll try to find that gadget... I've already driled the hole into it, but I didn't think about using nails... Thank you!!!

The tool in question is called a "Drill tap" or "tap".

Well in this case you also may want to try 10 grams of TNT.
